Integrated Writing Task

Two principal types of tests are used in secondary schools, and, in all types of schools. One type is the objective test. Different types of questions can be asked on objective test: multiple choice, fill in the blanks, true-or-false, matching, and so on. The other type of test is the subjective test, or essay test. This type of test asks students to write essays on one or more topics.
Although objective tests continue to be used in many high school classrooms, today the essay test is most often used because it tests a higher level of understanding. Objective tests simply test a student’s ability to memorize dates, names, and other facts. Essay tests, on the other hand, require students to organize and analyze, to see relationships, and to present information in a clear way. This is much more realistic task than any presented in an objective test. In real life, of course, questions will not be presented in a multiple-choice format; instead, they require students to organize and communicate their thoughts in a logical way.
Essay exams emphasize to high school students the need to express themselves clearly and effectively in writing. Everyone agrees this is a necessary skill for all students at all levels and in all disciplines. And if teachers in history classes give essay exams, they encourage their students to apply themselves with more enthusiasm in their compositions classes. Besides, as a bonus for the busy teacher, essay exams take far less time to construct than objective tests.

One problem is that students may get a high score nonetheless they do not memorize the fundamental knowledge of the writing topic. Another problem is that there is no clear value frame in the essay test, so the writing grade is different in each teacher the writing papers check. The objective test is suitable in the class which is in[YN2] many students. Teachers can score their objective test automatically[YN3] . In this case, the objective test is useful. The essay test, however, it is suitable to use[YN4] in small class. In conclusion, teacher should use the two types of test in their suitable situation.

Some people believe that money spent on space research benefits all of humanity. Other people take the opposite view and say that money spent on this type of research is wasted. Tell which point of view you agree with and explain why, using specific details and reasons. (30 minutes, 300 words)

àI agree with the opinion that people should spend money on the space research. One reason for this is that I think that it is necessary to develop the science which makes our live more convenient. There is not gravity situation[YN5] in space so Scientist can experience[YN6] something which can not experience on the earth. No gravity situation would help the experiences which would prove the new theories.
改行In addition, if people can not live in[YN7] the earth, they need to find another planet to live. The environmental problems are getting worse on the earth like global warming. If these problems are not solved in the future, the earth must be abandoned. People need to arrange environment which people can live, and people have a possibility that they can live other planets. Some people say that they should not spend huge budget to study on space, but research on space will be useful in the future despite not the present[YN8] .
